When you’re winning you’re grinning…. I could go on and on. What a brilliant way to end the 2014 British Touring Car Championship. I am a little surprised by everybody’s reaction if I am honest. Adam has been on fire in the WIX Racing Mercedes-Benz A Class, he has been in or around the championships top ten all year and consistently qualified within the top ten. He had 16 top 10 finishes, 11 of which were consecutive until a stray bolt was picked up from the track and smashed into our engine. Adam has had loads of 4th and 5th places yet there appeared to be genuine surprise when he won…. It was always going to happen.
This year has been phenomenal we have enjoyed every single moment of it, the relationship between WIX Filtration and Ciceley Motorsport couldn’t possibly be any better than it is, we both want exactly the same thing, we have been reading from the same page all year.
The commercial and marketing part of our association has reaped massive benefits for Ciceley Motorsport, from a determined little family outfit we have turned into one of the best presented most professional teams in the entire paddock (and not only in my humble opinion!)
We have perfected the art of trackside hospitality and the suite has run like a dream all year, it’s so versatile, business to business meetings can and are conducted there alongside people who have never had any interest in Motorsport and we even cater for little people, I think they are generally referred to as children!! Steve Rossi the WIX Racing Chef has cooked a prepared a delicious 3 course meal every weekend finished off with afternoon teas served during Adam’s question and answer session where each guest gets the opportunity to meet with Adam, have posters signed or a photograph taken which is framed and signed ready for when they leave us at the end of the day. The standard of Steve’s food has been exceptional at every championship round.
The best news that the Ciceley Motorsport has had this year is that WIX Filtration would like to extend their involvement in the team and remain as title sponsor for our 2015 assault on the championship. This was agreed well before the final round and has really helped us to begin implementing plans early for next season.
All in all an outstanding, exhilarating, amazing, fantastic year we have learned loads about everything, laughed and a few of the team even shed a few tears at the podium… Not me though, I’m Northern!!! We will keep you all updated with any new developments within the racing team.
